Black and white thinking also known as all or nothing thinking is the tendency to think in extremes: I am brilliant, or I am an utter failure. I am going to gain a ton of weight if I eat that hamburger for dinner. I am perfect or I am a failure.
All-or-nothing thinking can lead to ruminating, which oftentimes worsens anxiety or depression as well as causes disruptions in our relationships, leading to unhealthy eating habits, and preventing us from reaching our full potential in our careers.
Black and white thinking keeps us stick and prevents us from seeing the world as it often is: all the shades in between. Mindfulness and challenging these unhealthy thought patterns
